Badan Tenaga Nuklir Nasional (BATAN) adalah sebuah lembaga pemerintah yang berfokus pada penelitian dan pengembangan teknologi nuklir di Indonesia. BATAN didirikan pada tahun 1967 dan bermarkas di Yogyakarta. Lembaga ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengembangkan teknologi nuklir untuk kepentingan pembangunan nasional dan masyarakat, serta memastikan penggunaan teknologi nuklir yang aman dan terkendali.
BATAN memiliki berbagai unit kerja, seperti Reaktor Nuklir dan Teknologi Reaktor, Radiasi dan Kesehatan Masyarakat, Material Nuklir, dan Sumber Daya Nuklir. Unit-unit ini bekerja sama untuk menyediakan layanan dan solusi teknologi nuklir bagi berbagai bidang, seperti energi, pertanian, kedokteran, dan industri.
BATAN juga memiliki peran penting dalam pengembangan infrastruktur nuklir di Indonesia, seperti pembangunan reaktor nuklir dan pengembangan teknologi untuk pengelolaan limbah nuklir. Selain itu, BATAN juga berkontribusi pada upaya pengembangan teknologi nuklir di kawasan Asia Tenggara melalui kerja sama dan kerjasama internasional.
Dengan visi “Menjadi lembaga unggul dalam teknologi nuklir untuk kesejahteraan bangsa” dan misi “Melaksanakan penelitian dan pengembangan teknologi nuklir untuk kepentingan pembangunan nasional dan kesejahteraan bangsa”, BATAN Yogyakarta berusaha untuk menjadi salah satu lembaga terkemuka dalam bidang teknologi nuklir di Indonesia dan dunia.
Pusat penelitan BATAN di Yogyakarta berubah namanya menjadi Pusat Penelitian dan Pengembangan Teknologi Maju (1999-2005), Pusat Teknologi Akselerator dan Proses Bahan (2005-2014). Kedudukan Badan Tenaga Nuklir Nasional (BATAN) sebagai badan pelaksana dipertegas dengan Peraturan Presiden 46 tahun 2013 tentang Badan Tenaga Nuklir Nasional. Setelah itu Pusat Teknologi Akselerator dan Proses Bahan berubah menjadi Pusat Sains Teknologi Akselerator sampai sekarang.
Siswa SMA Negeri 2 Pacitan diperkenalkan dengan lingkungan BATAN Yogyakarta serta mendapat materi sekilas tentang BATAN Yogyakarta.

UPN adalah singkatan dari Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Yogyakarta. Merupakan salah satu universitas negeri yang terletak di Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
